Ministry of the Month

Hospital Ministry
Serving UCSF Medical Center

We are a parish which provides spiritual care for patients hospitalized at UCSF Medical Center and serves as a Newman Center for UCSF.
Eucharistic Ministers bring the Holy Eucharist to UCSF Medical Center patients. Volunteer time required is approximately 1.5 hours either weekly or monthly. Interested parishioners may contact Harriett Kelley (email: chaphat@aol.com).

“I’ve never felt such gratitude in my life. The strength and bravery of the people we visit is mind-boggling. It makes you grateful for your place in the world and brings you in touch with God.”
   Ethel, volunteer

“It’s a privilege. There’s a connection that happens and that’s what life is all about. More Life.”
   George, volunteer

“I cannot tell you what is does for me spiritually. It’s automatic. You get yourself involved and certain forces start operating in you and you emit this to the people you serve. A few years
ago, no one could have told me that I’d be willing to get out of bed early and go serve at the hospital. It is another avenue to experience.”
    Madeleine, volunteer
